Charles “Charlie” Huska passed away July 31, 2013 after 93 years on this earth. Charles served in the U.S. Army during World War II where he fought in Okinawa, was wounded, and awarded the Purple Heart. After the war, Charles and Loretta Philpot found each other, married in 1950 and raised two boys. Loretta passed in 2005 and from heaven awaits her husband to join her.
Charles was preceded in death by his eight brothers. He is survived by his two sons Richard Huska and Ron (Joyce) Huska, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and his sister Mary Huska.
An avid sports fan, Charlie will be able to watch his Chiefs, Royals and KU Jayhawks from the best seats in the house.
Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 3, at Christ the King Church, 85th and Wornall, Kansas City, Missouri. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, 10507 Holmes Road. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice, 9221 Ward Parkway, Suite 100, Kansas City, Missouri 64114.
