Chuck was born in Kansas City, Missouri on March 18, 1956, the third child of four to Rogers and Thela McCrae.
Chuck was special with special needs. His mom diligently worked with him concerning diet, learning, and memorizing scripture. Chuck lived in two group homes, The Alm House in Kansas City, Missouri and later, Special Force Family Ministries in Nixa, Missouri.
Some of his favorite things were sunshine, tea, music, taking walks, and helping his brother with woodworking. He helped his mother distribute birthday cards to residents.
Chuck is survived by his sister, Catherine Singleton McCrae; his two brothers, “Scott” Rogers Scott (Jill) McCrae and John David (Mary Susan) McCrae; three grandchildren, Luke McCrae, Angela (Raleigh) Howard, and Allison McCrae, one great nephew, Miles Howard, and relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: “Rog” Rogers Murdock McCrae (3/16/1919 – 4/24/2004) and Thela Hale McCrae (10/15/23 – 7/15/15).
