Chuck was born April 3, 1932 in Miami County, Kansas. He was born and raised on a farm by his parents Charles and Ethel Savidge.
He attended Ottawa High School where he excelled in track. He then attended Ottawa University before transferring and graduating from Kansas State University, where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. While at Kansas State he met the love of his life Virginia Duncan. They were married for 67 wonderful years.
He is survived by his wife Virginia A. Savidge, two children, Mike (Jane) Savidge, Linda (Russ) Fuchs, four grandchildren, Kim (Chris) Saule, Christie (Justin) Peterfish, Sara (Keith) Wyss and Michelle (Ben) McFarlane and seven great-grandchildren, Adalyn and Carter Saule, Brooklynn and Layla Peterfish, Kinsley and Graham Wyss, and Henry McFarlane.
Chuck served in the US Army after graduating from college and continued his career as a sales representative for many years before owning his own office coffee business. He was an active member of the Colonial Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon, usher and President of the Prime Timer’s Sunday school class.
Chuck was an avid sports fan, cheering and supporting his children and grandchildren in their sports events, but especially enjoyed swim meets where he frequently could be spotted with his stopwatch in the bleachers. He also enjoyed following the K.C. Royals, Chiefs and K-State football.
A visitation for Charles was held Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Colonial Presbyterian Church. He was buried with full military honors at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
