

Charles D. Stauffer, 79, Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on July 27, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00 p.m. followed by memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 2, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Charles was born in West Reading, Pennsylvania on January 31, 1932 to Charles Elam and Clara (Schlippert) Stauffer. He obtained a BSME and MSME degrees from Lehigh University. He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Charles moved with his family to Overland Park in 1964. He was Chief Engineer for Fairbanks Morse Pump Company for twenty years. After leaving Fairbanks Morse, he started his own consulting business which he continued his death. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Jean, and daughter Patricia. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 52 years, Betty; daughter Judy Schmidt and husband Tom; grandchildren and loves of his life Alex and Meghan; and special granddog Sadie. He will be dearly missed. He is also survived by five nieces, three nephews and their families.
