

Charlotte Elizabeth Geha was born on October 4, 1934, to Joseph and Nina Shimmaly in Toledo, Ohio. She was the youngest of three daughters. Attending a family wedding, Mom met the love of her life. Following a three-year courtship with our Dad who traveled between Kansas City and Toledo every weekend to see her, they were married in 1954. They began their life together in Kansas City, MO. Blessed with three children, Charlotte was devoted to meeting their needs and participating in their school activities throughout their formative years. She was a great listener, confident, support person to all who sought her advice and her friendship. She always had positive things to say about anyone she met. Charlotte loved spending time with family and close friends. She had a welcoming spirit and created a home where everyone felt valued and eager to visit often. She created a home where people could gather together. Fond of animals, she enjoyed time spent with her beloved companion and pet, Molly. Other interests included reading, watching golf tournaments, and cheering the Royals Baseball team to victory. Her work-life was spent as the office manager of Ward Parkway Health Services. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church.
Charlotte is preceded in death by her husband Thomas George Geha, parents Joseph and Nina Shimmaly, her sisters Rose Marie and Yvonne Shimmaly, brother-in-laws - Braham Geha, Moey Anter, and Edward Essay, and sister-in-laws, Anna Anter and Thelma Essay.
Charlotte is survived by her children, Suzanne (Greg), Thomas J., and Kenneth; her grandchildren Nicholas (Abby) and Katherine (Tanner), Great Grandson, Dawson, Sister-in-law Mary Ann Geha and many nieces and nephews. Her passing has left a void which is felt by all who loved her.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at KU Cancer Center, the Hospice team at Kansas Palliative and Hospice Care, family and friends for their support and love during this very difficult time.
