Clarence Golubski, well known as Bill Golubski, was a man known for his dedication to his family and his faith. A son to Polish descendants, Bill knew the importance of hard work and dedication which were passed down to him. He understood his responsibility to those families values which he then passed down to his own family. Bill, the second eldest of five children, leaves behind his two siblings Betty and Edward.
With his deep faith in God, Bill was a parishioner at St. Catherine’s. As a devoted Catholic, he spent many days volunteering his time with the church. From preparing communion to serving on the altar in his 70s, Bill would do anything for his faith in God. St. Catherine’s will always hold a very special place in his heart.
When coming of age, Bill Golubski joined the Air Force and served in the Korean War. His time in the war, many stories which he passed down to his granddaughters, told the story of a man who fearlessly fought for his country. Through his tour of duty, Bill was awarded medals of honor for his service in the Air Force. The world has lost another great veteran who put their life on the line to serve and protect their country. A country that Bill was always proud to fight for. After the war, Bill Golubski worked for the Rock Island and Pacific Railroad.
His career allowed Bill to provide a safe and happy home for his wife Barbara. Married at the age of 23 in 1956, Bill and Barbara lived a happy life and 65 years of marriage. Through times of good and bad, they never left each others’ sides. They were soul mates and travel companions in sickness and in health. Until the day of his death, Barbara was always by his side: his support, his rock, his forever family. No matter if Bill is by Barbara’s side or in heaven, this is a marriage that will and forever stand the test of time. Their marriage can be viewed as a vow which truly exemplifies the idea of love and what it can accomplish. Bill leaves Barbara in the care of their daughter, Cheryl Pallesen, and son, Ron Golubski.
Bill’s two children gave him the gift of being a grandfather. A title he was most proud of. His five granddaughters: Megan Golubski, Michele Golubski, Melinda Golubski, Amanda Pallesen, and Nicole Pallesen were a very important part of his life. He was lucky enough to be able to watch all of them grow into confident women who share his values of dedication and hard work in life. They all share the same memories of their Grandfather’s jokes and endless laughs they had together. No matter what, their grandfather will never be forgotten. He has forever impacted their lives for the better and they thank him.
With love for God and his family, Clarence Golubski will be missed. His dedication to his family, his country, and his faith can be seen as an inspiration for those around him. With full hearts, his family sends their love to him in heaven.
