Clyde Elbert Thompson

89 years old.

Clyde was born April 13, 1932, in Mora, MO. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy

during the Korean War from 1951 to 1954. He was a truck driver and heavy hauler for over 30 years

with Belger Cartage Service. He was a member of the Masons, Scottish Rite and Shriners enjoying

several years of friendship and parading.

Clyde is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings and especially his wife of 64 years, Darlene

Thompson of Adrian, MO. He is survived by his son Michael Thompson and wife Bonne’ of Altoona, PA

and daughter Beverly Perez of Overland Park, KS. His 5 grandchildren Dusten Thompson and wife

Bernadette of Altoona, PA, Darren Thompson and wife Lexi of Philadelphia, PA, Doreen Luther and

husband Tony of Duncansville, PA, Mason Perez of Overland Park, KS and Nicholas Perez of Overland

Park, KS. His 9 great grandchildren Mercedes Thompson, Marah Thompson, Morgon Thompson of

Altoona, PA, Brianna Luther, Damian Luther of Duncansville, PA Sydnee Thompson, Zoee Thompson,

Maverrick Thompson of Philadelphia, PA and Colson Perez of Overland Park, KS. Clyde is also survived

by his special friend and companion, Betty Ballad of Lee’s Summit, MO and their friends at Summit Park

Church.

Visitation will be March 30, 2022, 1:00 PM, and the funeral Service 2:00 PM at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7700 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO. Committal Services, Military Honors & Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
