Corinne (Corky) Miller , 90, of Harrisonville, Missouri died peacefully in her sleep on June 6, 2018.

Corky was born May 15, 1928 in Tulsa, OK to the late Glenna and Earl Stewart. She lived in Sheldon, Rolla, and Springfield, MO. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1945. Corky married Joe Miller in Springfield on August 29, 1947. She moved to Kansas City, MO in 1950 and worked for the Solo Cup Company, the IRS, the library in Ruskin High School and the Hickman Mills District Administration office.

Corky was an enthusiastic cheerleader for her husband, sons, and granddaughters while they spent many hours playing sports. She enjoyed dancing, golfing, running and was an excellent seamstress, home decorator and welcoming hostess. She also loved telling stories to her grandchildren about the difficulties of living in the Great Depression and the life-long benefits of surviving the struggle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenna and Earl Stewart, her son Stan Miller, her sisters Nona Kelso, Meredith Watts, her brothers-in-law Phil Kelso, Gene Watts, Joe Behm, David DeCamp, her brother Earl Stewart and her sister-in-law Anna Stewart. Corinne is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Joseph Miller of Harrisonville, MO, son Ronald, daughter-in-law Margaret Miller of Enid, OK, sisters, Earline DeCamp of Odessa, MO, Francis Behm of Holden, MO, brother Larry Stewart , sister-in-law Sue Stewart of Lee's Summit, MO, granddaughters Erica Miller, Staci (Jeff) Shipman, Andie (Jason) O'Daniel, Tessa Miller, great-grandchildren Tucker, Tess, Tatum O'Daniel, Max, Maisie and Mollie Shipman.

Visitation will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, services at 11:00 am followed by burial held at Mount Mariah Cemetery 10507 Holmes Rd., Kansas City, MO.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be sent to Serenity Care Hospice, 1626 East Elm Street, Harrisonville, MO 64701.

Biography

Corinne (Corky) Miller, 90, of Harrisonville, Missouri, died peacefully in her sleep on June 6, 2018.

Corky was born on May 15, 1928 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the late Glenna and Earl Stewart. She lived in Sheldon, Rolla, and Springfield, Missouri. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1945.
