

With deep love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Cindy Carey, a beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and loving sister. Cynthia's life was defined by her unwavering love for her family, her generous spirit, and the countless lives she touched through her kindness and compassion. Cynthia shared a life filled with love, partnership, and treasured memories with her beloved husband/ high school sweetheart, Ed. Together they built a life where laughter, comfort, and unconditional love were continuously shared. Her family was everything to her, and she shared countless laughs with whoever she encountered.
Cindy was born July 22, 1951, in Greeley, Kansas. She graduated from Bishop Hogan High School and Penn Valley Community College. Cindy most recently was a resident of Overland Park, Kansas. Cindy spent 30 years as a singer. One of her most popular performances was being the opening act for Comedian David Brenner. Locally, she performed at the Folly Theater, Hilton Plaza Inn, The Colony Steakhouse, and many other venues in the KC Metro and in Florida.
Cindy is survived by her beloved husband, Ed; her son, Patrick; and her three grandchildren, Alyssa, Sammie, and Braden. She is also survived by her brothers, Dave Hastert, Bart Hastert and his wife, Cindy; along with her sister, Geri Restivo and her husband, Tony Restivo.
In retirement, Cindy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and traveling. Everywhere she went, she made sure to ask the person what their name was and made sure to get to know them. Even if it was a stranger. She always had a childlike spirit that never ran dry. Cindy was always spreading joy through her positive energy that never stopped.
The family is having a private service to celebrate Cindy’s life. The family appreciates your love, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
