

Dale Cameron Bieber, 85, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away January 19, 2012. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 23, at Mt. Moriah and Freeman Funeral Homes, I-435 & Holmes Road, with burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, January 22, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in his name to the American Lung Association in care of Mt. Moriah. Dale was born April 12, 1926 in Marceline, Missouri, (the hometown of Walt Disney) to Paul and Ruby (Cameron) Bieber. When he was 12 years old he moved to Rothville, Missouri, attending Rothville High School where he excelled in track & field. In 1943 he joined the United States Marine Corps and fought in the Battle of Okinawa as a proud member of the World War II 6th Marine Division; later the China Marines was created out of the 6th. While in China he was a part of the repatriation of the Japanese. After leaving the service in 1946 he married Mary Lou Springer on December 30, 1946. They lived in Kansas City, Missouri and later Lake Lotawana, Missouri and had one daughter Paula Sue. Mary Lou and Dale were married 39 years until her unexpected death on April 22, 1985. On April 8, 1989 he married Sandi Mauch. They lived in Blue Springs, Missouri until Sandi’s death on July 10, 2003. Dale worked on five different railroads including the Union Pacific where he was an engineer for 36 years until his retirement in September 1986. Dale was a man of many passions. These included photography, woodworking, traveling. He visited 30 countries on six continents. In his 70’s he developed a skill with computers, communicating with friends all over the country. He loved his family, his flag and God. Dale never met a stranger. He was a member of the 6th Marine Division Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Blue Springs Assembly of God Church. He is loved and will be greatly missed by his only child Paula Schroer and her husband Kenton; his stepchildren Lynda McCray & her husband Bob, Richard Sanderson & his wife Cathy, Pam Mauch & her husband Patrick Kane, and Alan Mauch & his wife Tricia; grandchildren Christopher & Colin Mauch, Mark, Peter & Andy Hayden (wife Teresa) and his “grandpuppy” Giovanna, a loving Maltese; cousins Tommy Robinson, Laurel Purkey and Norma Latimer; and his friends Russell Shoemaker, boyhood buddy since 2nd grade and Neal Ables, a friend of over 30 years.
