Dana Lynn Ahern, 41, of Kansas City, MO passed away at home on March 3, 2013. Visitation and memorial service will be held at the McGilley & Sheil Chapel (11924 E. 47th Street, KCMO 64133) from 6-8pm on Friday, March 8, 2013. Dana was born on August 28, 1971 in San Diego, CA to Jimmie & Mary Dolt. Dana graduated from Liberty High School and went on to have a notable career in the hospitality industry. Dana was interested in many things and especially enjoyed nature, outdoor activities and the beaches of South Florida. During her career in the hospitality industry as a waitress and bartender, Dana touched many hearts and minds with her ever present smile and cheerful demeanor. Her contagious laugh was a resounding tribute to her outstanding personality. To be sure, Dana rose to the pinnacle of her profession. She was always able to find good in everybody and everything with a virtue of deep compassion paralleled by few. Dana will be sadly missed by many family members, many friends and an untold number of acquaintances. Close survivors include her significant other, Ronald L. Medlin; her mother, Mary L. Dolt; her sister, Stacey Loughrey; her aunts, Mitzi Echo and Anna Schranz; her uncle, Jim Schranz; her cousin, Andrew Schranz and all of her loving family in Lawson, MO. Memorial contributions can be made to the Dana L. Ahern Memorial Fund in care of Blue Ridge Bank & Trust Co. (4240 Blue Ridge Blvd., Suite 100, KCMO 64133) or in person at the memorial service.
