Daniel, Dan, or Danny to some, was the youngest of 10 born to Martha Jean (Stanley) and Adran Carrol Jackson. Dan took great honor in being able to serve in the Navy aboard the USS Independence. He went on to graduate from the University of Missouri in Columbia. He had recently retired from the IRS after almost 25 years. He was also proud to be a volunteer for Kansas City Hospice. Dan was an avid reader, foreign film lover, and documentary watcher. When Dan was leaving the house you could always spot him easily in a crowd, in his mirrored sunglasses, loud Jerry Garcia ties, Grateful Dead denim jacket, or one of his very bold Hawaiian shirts. Dan loved spending time with his family and friends. One of his favorite things to do was take his kids on spontaneous day trips to share his love of exploration and adventure.
Dan is survived by his wife Catherine (Saitta), children John Paul, Madeline, and Faustina. Siblings Ginny Goldman (Ken), Judy Rush, Eileen Brown (Doug), Cary Jackson (Heather), Sharon Evans, Martin Jackson, and Terry Hartman (Jerry).
Proceeded in death by siblings Joan Lathrop and Tim Jackson. He will be missed by countless nieces, nephews, coworkers, and friends.
