Dan G. Jackson, III, 78, a lifelong resident of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away December 28, 2013. Dan was born December 4, 1935, the son of Dan G. Jackson, Jr. and Virginia Hull Jackson. He graduated from Southwest High School, class of 1953. He attended Westminster and the University of Kansas and was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Upon graduation he served in the Army. After leaving the Army he attended the University of Kansas School of Law and received his Juris Doctorate.
He was an accomplished attorney amassing a career with the City Attorney’s office for over 35 years. He was an active member of The Sons of the American Revolution, The 40 Year Ago Column Club, and The Native Sons & Daughters of Greater Kansas City.
Next to his family Dan’s loves were hunting and barbecuing. He competed for many years in the American Royal BBQ and served as a Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS) Certified Barbecue Judge.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years Judy Jackson, daughters Jennifer Koenig (Jim), Heather Salinardi (Jayme), grandchildren Jackson, Katherine, Sofia, and Isabella, and his brother David Jackson.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. followed by funeral service at 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 3, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Private inurnment in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
