Daniel Lopez

Daniel Lopez, age 97, of Kansas City, MO, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2026. He was born on February 8, 1929 in Kansas City, MO to Refugia Robaloaba and Trididad Lopez. He was baptized on March 23, 1929 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Kansas City, MO in the neighborhood where he grew up, built his home, and his family with his beloved wife, Beatriz Lopez. Daniel started work at age 15 and was a Retired Foreman for the Kansas City Southern Railroad. He loved to cook dinner on Sundays for his extended family, go to the beach for vacations, take care of his cats, and grow his cactus plants.

Daniel will be remembered for his excellent cooking, generosity, kindness, strength, hard work, and devotion to his family. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. He has many friends and was preceded in death by his wife, Beatriz Elvira Lopez.

Visitation will be held at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Road, Kansas City, MO on August 20, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am. Daniel will be laid to rest in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 1150 N. 38th St., Kansas City, KS on August 20, 2026, following the service.
