Major Daniel Ellis Uptegrove, age 83, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on September 26, 2016. Visitation 6-8PM on Friday, Sept. 30, at The Salvation Army Northland Corps., 5306 N Oak Trfy, Kansas City, MO. Funeral at 10AM on Saturday at The Salvation Army. Burial at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Charlene; sons Kris (Shelley), Kurt (Rob), Kelly (Debbie); grandchildren Josh and Tyler. Dan was a Korean War veteran, past president of the Blue Valley Kiwanis Club, outstanding Scout Master, and a Chief in the Order of the Black Arrow. He was a dedicated pastor, biblical scholar, and prayer warrior. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army world missions’ fund.
