

Danny Neal Hinesley Captain’s Log – Star Date10302016 – lost first officer Dan Hinesley today. His landing party was on a mission on the Planet Calciphylaxis when they were overtaken by Romulans. Dan’s journey began on January 25, 1955 in Kansas City, MO. Prior to joining Star Fleet, Dan was a 1973 graduate of Raytown South High School and then went on to complete studies at Maple Woods Community College, the Electronic s Institute and UMKC with degrees in Electrical Engineering. He was always on the cutting edge of technology creating software for the likes of Armco Steel, Kustom Electronics, Harmon Industries/GE and Kustom Signals. He was also part owner of Mid America Laminating and Binding Solutions. For 17 years, Dan was one of the assistant troop leaders for Girl Scout Troops 246 and 1841 and acted as Fishing Instructor; he was an assistant softball coach for ten years for the Twisters Fast Pitch Softball team. Dan was an active member of Lane Avenue Baptist Church as well an avid Coca Cola Collector, and Royals’ season ticket holder! He loved science fiction and traveling throughout the galaxy – he was never without a camera to document any new life form he might encounter! Dan is leaving behind his wife of 39 years, Carol Hinesley on the Millennium Falcon and two daughters, Tayler and Cory currently living on Dagobah; parents, Bernis and Marcille Hinesley of Raytown and Fox, AR and brother, Darren and wife, Clair, Raytown. Dan also had many wonderful nieces and nephews scattered throughout the solar system -- Jeanette, Shaunan, Mindy, Sarah, Miranda, Preston and Logan. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8pm on Friday, November 4th at the Floral Hills Funeral Home in Raytown—Royals themed night . A “casual dress” funeral will be held on Saturday, November 5th at 11am at Lane Avenue Baptist Church, 9003 E. 87th Street in Raytown with graveside service immediately following at Floral Hills. Dan Lived Long and Prospered ! Kirk out. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lane Avenue Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
