Darrell was born December 22, 1952 in Clinton, MO to Ray Summers and Eula Elaine Thomas.
Darrell grew up on a farm in Lincoln, MO until aged 14, then moved to Raytown, MO.
He attended Raytown High School, and worked at School of Music, traveling to surrounding states. Darrell played drums, piano and organ and loved playing concerts back in the 70's with his band!
He enjoyed gardening, landscaping, fishing, cooking, football & soccer, and was a goalie in his younger years. Darrell loved painting and even made his own frames and made clay busts. He made his own wine, Summers Touch. Darrell was known for so many talents and was always creating something. He had HO scale trains, with 5 tracks running at once!
Darrell looked at things and saw what they could be, then made it happen. He created Summers Farm. With the woods in our back field he saw so much potential, Darrell created a miniature golf course, built pathways, had a camping area with a gazebo, a big garden and even made a golf green!
He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Summers, his mother, Elaine Dulin, and his brother John Summers.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Debbie; daughters Shelane (Jeff), and Deanna; sons Steven (Brit), Joseph and Jacob; sister, Donna Rae; brother, Herb; several grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Darrell led a life of adventure, leaving nothing on the table. He went all in on everything he did and gave all of himself to those he loved.
Visitation is Thursday February 9, 2023 at 11am, with Memorial Service at 12pm.
