Born in Kansas City, MO, he was the son of Darryl Sr. and Cheri Redmon. He graduated from Newington High School in Newington Connecticut in 2008. He served in the United States Marines Corps from 2015 – 2019. D.J. was employed at Poseidon Commercial Diving and worked as an Underwater Welder.
D.J was a member of Sheffield Family Life Center. D. J. enjoyed expressing himself through his rap lyrics, diving, and creating hilarious memories with family and friends. He will be remembered for his big smile and big heart to match it. “We trust God with His plan, but your light, your impact, will be extremely missed.”
D.J. is survived by his parents, Darryl L. Redmon Sr. and Cheri I. Redmon, sisters Shanielle L. Redmon-Copeland (Don), DeMarchelle L. Harvey, Cynthia Roby, and Kendra Courtenay, brother Jerry Roby, Maternal Grandmother, Iona E. Seals, niece Ashanti L. Frazier, nephews Aveontae M. Frazier, Landon H. Copeland, and Kelvin D. Foster Jr., Step-Mother Margo R. Carter and a host of Aunts and Uncles. He was predeceased in death by his paternal grandparents, Ludy and Maxine Redmon, maternal grandfather William A. Seals, brother DeMarco Harvey.
The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 10 at 1:00pm at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131. A Visitation will be held from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. This Service will be livestreamed on https://FB.com/MtMoriahNewcomer.
