
David H. Jackson, 72, Kansas City, MO, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015. He was born in Kansas City, MO on March 28, 1943 to Virginia and Daniel G. Jackson, Jr. His parents and brother Daniel G. Jackson, III preceded him in death.
After graduating from Southwest High School, he went on to the University of Missouri, joining the Sigma Chi fraternity and earning a Bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science. He then earned a Doctorate of Law degree from University of Missouri – Kansas City.
During his early private law practice he served in the Army Reserves and was elected County Prosecutor in St. Clair County, MO. He then returned to Kansas City and became the Director and Regional Counsel for the United States Department of Energy – Central States Region. He travelled frequently to Washington, DC for his work with the Department of Energy, testifying before Senate Committee hearings. From 1985 to the present he had his own law practice and was a member of the Missouri and American Bar Associations.
Throughout his life he enjoyed politics, antiquing, and travel. He was in attendance for President John F. Kennedy’s “Ich bin ein Berliner” speech. Among his favorite destinations were Captiva, FL, the Caribbean, and anywhere poolside.
He leaves his beloved wife Georgia, daughters Melanie Martini, Julie Zwillenberg, stepson Gregory Larsen and five grandchildren.
Honoring David’s request, a private family service has been held.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at Saint Luke’s Hospital for their kind and compassionate care, especially Crystal, Lisa, Clara, Amber, and Saint Luke’s Hospice.
