A Memorial Visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 7:30pm on Wednesday, June 6 at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Military Honors will take place at 7:00pm.
David was born July 6, 1932 in Lenexa, Kansas and grew up in Southern Johnson County. Dave completed high school, at Stanley High School in 1950. He joined the Army in 1953 and served in Japan and then the Korean War as a Drill Sergeant. He was a member of the “Big Red One” – 1st Infantry Division, which is a combined arms division of the United States Army and is the oldest continuously serving division in the Regular Army.
David married Betty Miller on September 14, 1957. He was a farmer and a John Deere fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and all of his siblings. He is survived by his son Douglas, his daughter-in-law Roxanne and his granddaughter Sydney.
