David Stewart Sooter

A visitation will be held on March 7, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133.

The funeral service will follow on the same day, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, at the same location.

A graveside service will take place immediately after the funeral, from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm, also at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery.

David Sooter was born January 16th 1937 in Independence MO and resided there all his life. He was an Eagle Scout and graduated from Northeast High School in 1955. He enlisted in the Army in 1958 and received a good conduct medal. Dave also had his pilot’s license. He loved to quail hunt and fish. He also coached girls basketball.

Dave worked for Coca Cola from April, 1960 to October, 1995. After 35 years of service, he retired. He was also a member of Fairmount United Methodist Church in Independence, MO.

Dave is preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Theresa Sooter of Independence, his wife of 52 years, Joanne Sooter, brothers Cecil and Clifford, sister Gladys Burcham.

Dave is survived by his daughter Paula Howard (Larry), 2 grand-daughters Christine Feuerstein (Jason) and Katie Howard, and 1 great grand-daughter Lydia Feuerstein.
