Daysie Cornwall Beckett died April 22, 2018. She was born July 30, 1928, the daughter of Dr. Harrison and Emma Smith Cornwall of Charleston, MO. Daysie graduated from Charleston High School in 1946. She then attended Central Methodist University in Fayette, MO for two years and graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in June 1950 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Home Economics.
On August 6, 1950, she married Theodore Charles Beckett in the Methodist Church of Charleston, MO. She accompanied her husband during his military tours to Alabama, Indiana and Heidelberg, Germany. She was a member of Blue Hills Country Club, John Knox Presbyterian Kirk and Alpha Chi Omega sorority.
Daysie was preceded in death by her parents and brother Paul Harrison Cornwall. She is survived by her husband of 67 years and daughters Elizabeth (Tom) Vohs, Lynn (Michael) Bruhn and Anne (Tom) Mardikes; sons Theodore (Tricia) and William (Elizabeth); 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1-2 pm, followed by Memorial Service at 2 pm on Friday, April 27 at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Road, Kansas City, MO.
