Deborah Ann Carter

She was born on September 19, 1953, in Kansas City, Missouri, to John H. Williams Sr. and Dorothy M. Williams, who preceded her in death.

Deborah was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her loving husband, Mikal Carter; her children, David Alder (Tina), Darrin Alder (Heidi), and Dwight Alder Jr. (Ginger); and her 11 cherished grandchildren. She also leaves behind in-laws Bruce Colon and Jeanette Williams, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, her brother John H. Williams Jr., and her sisters Darlene Colon and Donna Kelly James.

Deborah spent many years working in the mortgage industry as a dedicated and skilled loan processor. She was known for her attention to detail, her diligence, and her desire to help others through important moments in their lives. Outside of her career, her greatest passion was her family, whom she fiercely loved and protected.

Deborah was a proud member of Refresh Church, where she served in Praise & Worship and on the Intercessory Prayer Team whenever her health allowed. She loved music, dance, and roller skating, and she carried a joyful, expressive spirit that made any room brighter.

What made Deborah truly special was her profound strength as a woman of faith, her boldness to stand up for others, and her unwavering commitment to covering her children and loved ones in love and prayer. She lived with courage, compassion, and a heart fully turned toward God.

Her legacy of faith, resilience, and love will continue to live on through every life she touched.

A visitation will be held at Linwood United Church, located at 3151 Olive Street, Kansas City, MO, 64109, on Friday, November 28, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. This will be followed by a Homegoing Celebration at 11:00 am. A Repass will take place at the church from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

The committal service is scheduled for November 28, 2025, at 3:00 pm at Mount Moriah Cemetery South, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO, 64131.
