She leaves her sons, Brian with his wife Sarah (Lynn), and Mark; her brothers, Richard Deal and Kevin Deal; her sister, Shereen Deal; her grandchildren, Abigail Baltzell and Warren Baltzell; nieces and nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Steven Baltzell; her mother, Bernice (Chowning) Deal; her father, Paul Deal and her brother, Jaime Deal.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, Debra had the opportunity to live and work in many places across the country before settling in Kansas City to be close to her family.
She was a loving mother and hardworking businesswoman whose talents led her to a fulfilling career in law firm administration. While managing some of the top law firms in the country, Debra stayed active in her community by being a substitute teacher, board member of numerous church and youth sports organizations, and supporter of local music. Once, she even won a Thanksgiving black powder rifle turkey shoot. She enjoyed knitting clothes for her grandchildren, diving into a good book and traveling across the country with her loved ones.
A Visitation for Debra will be held Friday, October 29, 2021 from 10:00am to 11:00am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am.
