Delores Irene Price

Delores was born in Independence on September 16, 1931 to Richard and Jennie (Crank) Northington. She was married to James Wendleton and they were stationed in Queens, New York when their first child was born. Altogether, they had three children: Mike, Pam, and Debra. Delores and James were married for 26 years until James’s passing in 1976.

While working at Sterling National Bank, Delores met Howard Price. They wed in 1978 and were married for 36 years. Howard owned Price Rite Furniture Stores, where Delores worked and even starred in their television commercials. After selling the store, Delores and Howard moved to El Dorado Springs, Missouri, where they lived for 10 years. While in El Dorado Springs, Delores was a member of P.E.O., a private club for women. She loved the club dearly and also served as their Treasurer.

Delores was preceded in death by parents Richard and Jennie (Crank) Northington, husband James Wendleton, husband Howard Price, daughter Pam French, step-son Craig Price, grandsons Adam Todd and James Coyle, brother Richard Northington, sister Beverly Drummond, and sister-in-law Gladys Northington.

She is survived by son James “Mike” Wendleton (Diane), daughter Debra Ficklin, granddaughters Jennifer Elvin, Michelle Dever, and Tamara Coyle, grandson Justin Wendleton, 13 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
