DeMarcus Levell Edwards

DeMarcus Levell Edwards was born on August 21, 1992 to Emmett L. Edwards IV and Chantay Morgan. A native of Kansas City, Missouri, he attended Lee’s Summit West High School, where he showcased his athletic skills on the football field. Those skills would earn him a scholarship allowing him to attend some courses at Coffeyville Community College. He was a construction worker who worked for StreetWise Construction. He did not marry, nor have children. However, he shared a special bond with his sisters and loved spending time attending and supporting them in everything they did. He truly embraced the Big Brother role.

DeMarcus departed this life on Friday, December 9, 2022. He was well loved and will truly be missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Mary Jo Edwards-Grigg, and his maternal grandparents, Dan Williams, Sr. and Birdie M. Morgan-Williams.

He leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Emmett L. Edwards IV (April), and Chantay Morgan; siblings including two sisters, Ja’Lyn M. Grayson, and Leyla D. Edwards; one brother, Kevin Kidd, Jr.; grandfathers, Emmet L. Edwards III and Rick A. Grigg; uncles Kevin L. Morgan, Dan Williams, Jr., and Geoff Grigg; three aunts, Gwen Williams, Micheala E. Edwards and Mia E. Edwards He also leaves a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. He will also be missed by his best buddy Leo (pet dog).

A visitation for Demarcus will be held Friday, December 23, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m.
