Dear Jim:  I'm not sure if you remember me, we met a long time ago back at UofI; I worked with Denise in Dr. Cooke's Lab.  Sri just messaged me and told me the horrible news.  I am deeply saddened.  Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you during this difficult time.  I will keep you and your loved ones in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Jim, Like many messages below, you probably don't remember me. We met while I was a graduate student at University of Illinois and Denise, a young bright scientist joined the Cooke lab. I know it's been a while but have thought of you two from time to time.  I was absolutely heartbroken to get the news today and shed tears of sadness.  Denise was such a wonderful person and such an inspiration.  I always think of her when I'm on the golf course as she would say "aim your hips"!  She told me that if I was going to be a corporate girl I better perfect my golf game.  I know you were her rock and she cherished you dearly.  I hope you find strength and peace in the love that is pouring our your way from many friends and family across the country!  Hugs!

dear jim im not sure you remember me but me and denise were best friends in high school in central falls,ri, we used to drive to school every day together, i just found out today of her passing i remember visiting you guys many years ago im sorry we lost touch, im just so sad that we lost such a great person denise will forever be in my heart we had some great  times together GOD REST HER SOUL! I just happened to hear "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd and remembered your talking about this song while we were all driving around Clemson one day.  Then I wondered if I could find a phone number as Ron has been asking me about Denise.  Then I found her obituary.  My "little sister" is gone.  I say this with tears in my eyes:  I have always thought the world of you two.  I know it was long ago, but I still owe you thanks for helping me along the way in life.  So if there is anything I can do for you, then let me know.

My heartfelt condolences go out to you my dear brother.  The world has lost a beautiful soul and a brilliant mind.  She will be dearly missed, yet the combined strength and faith that you and Denise maintained will remain a true beacon of inspiration for us all.
