Dennis Paul Huffman, 70, passed away on January 16, 2025 in Prairie Village, Kansas. Born on April 4, 1954, in Rantoul, Illinois, Dennis moved to Kansas City when he was 7 years old where he resided for most of his life. Dennis was a dedicated father, trusted friend, and passionate Chiefs fan who touched the lives of everyone who knew him.
A graduate of Central Missouri State University, Dennis earned his degree in accounting in 1977 and went on to become a Certified Public Accountant. Upon graduation he worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Touche Ross and Blue Cross Blue Shield Kansas City. Later in his career he worked as an independent tax accountant, where he was known for his expertise, reliability, and commitment to helping others navigate their financial paths.
Dennis married Joyce Jaeger in 1977. They divorced after 19 years. Their union produced a son, Daniel (Danny) Patrick Huffman, 34.
Dennis was a good man with a caring heart. He was a steady and loyal friend. His great conversations, generosity, humor, and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew him. But above all, Dennis was a loving father to his son, Danny. The two shared a special bond, spending many Sunday afternoons watching Kansas City Chiefs games together. Dennis took great pride in watching Danny grow into the man he is.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, William Kenneth Huffman and Loretta (Lipovitz) Huffman. He is survived by his son, Daniel Patrick Huffman; his brother, Kenneth Huffman; two nieces, Laura Huffman and Deanna Johnson; a nephew, Bryan Huffman; and a wide circle of friends who will forever cherish the memories they have of him.
We have requested prayers for Dennis at each of the Masses this weekend at Church of the Nativity on Saturday at 5:00 pm; Sunday at 7:30 am, 9 am, 11 am and 5 pm (8300 W. 119th Street, Leawood, KS, 66209).
