

Dewey was born July 5, 1930 in Commerce, OK to Mr. and Mrs. M.P. Ellington. He graduated from Gentry High School in Gentry, AR on May 21, 1948. On January 20, 1967, Dewey married Shirley Tawney and were married for 51 wonderful years.
He served in the Army for about 3 years and USAF for almost 10 years. Dewey was a proud member of the VFW Post 49.
Dewey worked as a metal worker at FIKE in Blue Springs, MO and retired after 25 years of service. In 1998 Dewey got a position working at Westlake Ace until retiring at 2017. Ace customers would come in to the store specifically asking for Dewey to help them with their project needs. Dewey was an awesome woodworker and made beautiful pens from acrylic and exotic woods. He also would make pine derby cars for the grandkids.
Dewey loved milk and vanilla cookies and would always give a cookie to the dogs. He is going to be greatly missed by all who had the honor to know him.
Dewey is preceded in death by his father; M. P. Ellington, Mother; Minnie Ellington, Step-son; Terry Branson, and Step-daughter; Robin Kercheval.
He is survived by his wife; Shirley Ellington, Sons; Danny Ellington, Christopher Ellington, and Michael Ellington, Daughters; Rebecca Steele, and Tammy Ellington; 12 grandkids, and 7 great-grandkids.
