She married Dwight Wesley Melhorn on December 28,1957 at the home of her father LaVerne Dahlke in Toledo, Ohio. Officiating was Homer Melhorn, Dwight's father.
Diane graduated from Whitmer High School in 1953 Toledo, Ohio. She worked as a homemaker and raised two children. She was very involved in her church Colonial Presbyterian in Kansas City, Missouri. Her hobbies included cooking and decorating. She loved making bread and cinnamon rolls just to name a few.
Preceding her in death was her father LaVerne Dahlke. Survivors include: her husband Dwight Wesley Melhorn, daughter Debbie Null (Phil) of St. Joseph, Missouri and son David Melhorn (Carol) of Raymore, Missouri; granddaughters Ashley Ryle (Corle) and Allison Melhorn; grandsons Joshua Melhorn and Jacob Melhorn; great-grandchildren Aubrey Melhorn and Lincoln Ryle all of Raymore, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer and Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131 on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. Visitation at 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, service at 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Interment to follow at Mount Moriah Cemetery South.
