Dolores Kiefer

January 5, 1938March 1, 2018

Dolores Ann (Mittlestadt) Kiefer, 80, was called home to God’s Kingdom, March 1, 2018. She was known in many ways: daughter, sister, best friend, wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, caregiver and an avid Royal’s Fan and dedicated Chief’s fan. The world is a better place because of her time here on earth. She was preceded in death by her adoring husband Robert Walter and innocent son James Richard. She is survived by sons Bob and Dan (Kelley), daughter Emily (Greg) Abella, grandsons Cameron, Brendan, Julian, August and Bienvenido, granddaughter Ila, sister Mary Ellen Finnane and Brother James Mittlestadt. Dolores was also preceded in death by her parents Otto and Emma Mittlestadt as well as brothers Otto, Julius, Herman, Robert, Michael, Father John OFM, Richard, sisters Emma Lou Schiefen and Rose Marie Gunter, many nieces and nephews and their families. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 10 at Guardian Angels Church, 1310 Westport Rd. Entombment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at McGilley Midtown Chapel, where the rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. The family requests contributions be made in her honor to St. Luke’s Hospice House, 4225 Baltimore, KCMO 64111. Dolores was a wonderful, generous person. Someone I admired and tried to imitate in her charity and reaching out to all kinds of people.
