Dolores "Dee" J. Lombardo

She attended elementary school and high school at Redemptorist and attended some college at St. Teresa’s College (now Avila.) She worked at the Jackson County Juvenile Court, where she met a young lawyer by the name of Louis Lombardo, who was the law clerk for Judge Henry Riederer. They married on November 5, 1955, and had two children, Richard and Lisa. Louis Lombardo went on to become a Jackson County Circuit Judge but passed away too early on August 3, 1986.

Dee worked in the home and raised her children during the marriage. Upon the passing of Judge Lombardo, she worked at the Kansas City Convention Center at a hospitality desk and occasionally served as a commissioner on condemnation cases in Jackson County. She also volunteered at St. Joseph Hospital and was a member of the Ladies of Charity. In 2016, she moved into Kingswood Senior Living in an independent living apartment and made many friends and served on the social committee.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Lombardo; her parents, Theodore and Lela Gangel; her sister, Lois Douglas; and her brother, Frank Gangel.

She is survived by her children, Richard Lombardo (Debbie) and Lisa Lombardo; grandchildren, Andrew Lombardo (Tarrin), Alex Lombardo and Celeste Crawford.

Her visitation will begin at 12pm (noon) until 1pm when the Rosary will be recited, followed immediately by her Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, February 20, 2026, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help (Redemptorist), 3333 Broadway Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64111. The committal service will follow in Calvary Cemetery, 6901 Troost Avenue, Kansas City, MO.
