

Donald Lee Boos, 72, of Blue Springs, Missouri died on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at St. Luke’s Hospital on the Plaza. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Church of Santa Fe, 231 S. Sibley St., Buckner, MO. Burial will follow in Leavenworth National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the McGilley Midtown Chapel, where the Knights of Columbus will pray the rosary at 6:30 and the parish rosary will be at 7:30 p.m.
Don was born on August 25, 1939 in Topeka, Kansas to Clemmons and Amelia (Sieb) Boos. Don was a regional manager for Deli Express for the Midwest before he retired. After retirement, Don was a driver for the Dignity Memorial Funeral Homes. Don was a U.S. Marine during Korea; a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus; an avid sports fan and strong Pro-Life advocate. Don was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Michele Horkey; four brothers and five sisters. Don’s survivors include his wife of 52 years, Helen, of the home; two sons, Paul and wife Dovie Boos of Blue Springs, MO and Patrick and wife Julie Boos of Lee’s Summit, MO; two daughters, Sheri and husband Brad Dalen of New Market, MN and Nichole and husband Mike Enloe of Leavenworth, KS; brother, Jim Boos and wife Jean of Meza, AZ; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
