Donald Keith Geier, 81, Kansas City, MO, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at home. Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday, January 18, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 19, at the funeral home followed by burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
Mr. Geier was born August 12, 1934 in Kansas City, MO. He was a Marble Mason for 40 years with Carthage Marble Corporation. He was a member of Local Union #3. Mr. Geier was a recipient of the 1983 Allied Arts/Craftsmanship Award. He worked on several Kansas City landmarks which include the Plaza, Nelson Art Museum, and Union Station to name a few.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Harriette Geier, three brothers, one sister, one son and two grandsons. Mr. Geier is survived by his wife of 63 years Frances Annabelle (Abbas) Geier; three daughters Chrystal Geier, Lynna Goud and Sheila Johnston; and one son Donald Geier. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, all of Kansas City, MO; extended family and friends.
