Donald W. Hymer Sr.

Donald W. Hymer, Sr., 76, Leawood, Kansas, passed away June 21st, 2013 surrounded by his beloved family. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 27th, at Colonial Presbyterian Church, 9500 Wornall Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Mr. Hymer was born January 2nd, 1937 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was raised in Kansas City, attended Southeast High School, played basketball at the University of Missouri, served his country in the United States Air Force and later graduated from Baker University. He had a successful career in sales within the heavy duty automotive parts industry for over 34 years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He provided a wonderful life for his family and made many friends throughout his lifetime. Donald was an unselfish leader of his family, who always put the needs of others before his own. He was preceded in death by his parents Edna (Bean) Hymer and Herbert C. Hymer. Mr. Hymer is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Marilou (Pippenger) Hymer; his brother Dr. Robert Hymer; his sons Donald (Kimberley) Hymer, Jr., Overland Park, Kansas and John Hymer, Warrenville, Illinois; and two grandchildren Megan and Eric Hymer.
