

Donald Keith Lane II, 39, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away August 8, 2021. Visitation will be 1pm, followed by funeral services at 2pm, Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Floral Hills Funeral Home. Burial in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
Donald was born May 21, 1982 in Kansas City, MO. He lived most of his life in the Northeast part of Kansas City. He joined the U.S. Army in 2005 where he served as an Infantryman with assignments in Hawaii, Georgia, and Alaska; with two combat tours in Iraq, earning the Iraqi Campaign Medal with three Campaign Stars. While stationed in Georgia, he met the love of his life, Modina Adelakun while they were both attending the National Training Center, in Fort Irwin, CA. Donald and Modina would go on to be married on Valentine’s Day of 2011. To this union, they had two beautiful children.
Donald was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 2015 with the rank of Sergeant. He continued his career as a federal government employee as a Program Manager for the IRS and most recently for the USDA.
He loved riding motorcycles, had a deep interest in classic cars, baseball and basketball memorabilia, old school rap music and loved dressing nice and looking sharp. He carried the military mentality even after he finished his service with the U.S. Army. He was very loyal and protective of both his family, close friends and his military comrades. He had a beautiful soul and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.
Donald loved his wife and children relentlessly. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will be carried through his children for generations to come. His passionate and devoted nature was a rare quality that was admired and always will be.
Donald is survived by his wife Modina Lane; children Deahna Lane and Donald Lane III; and father Steven Lane. Donald is preceded in death by his mother Janet Hall and brother Walter Fleig.
