Donald “Scott” Roller, 70, passed away on August 23, 2026. Scott was born July 22, 1956, in California and raised in Kansas City. He graduated from Hickman Mills High School, proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, and spent 26 years as a firefighter with the Kansas City Fire Department—one of the proudest accomplishments of his life. And if you knew Scott, chances are he told you about it!
Scott was truly one of a kind. He was silly, had a great sense of humor, and was usually the life of the party. He was also the chef of every gathering. Cooking for people was his love language. Whether it was family, friends, or a whole room full of people, feeding everyone was one of the ways Scott showed how much he cared. There was nothing he enjoyed more than good food, good friends, and having everyone together.
Scott was a giver through and through. He gave his time, his help, his friendship, and whatever else he could to the people around him. His friends were a huge part of his life, and he had a way of leaving a mark on people. The number of lives he touched says everything about the kind of man he was.
At the center of Scott’s world was his family. His son, Travis, and daughter, Angela, weren’t just his kids—they were his best friends. And then came the true loves of his life: his grandchildren, Lola, Charli, Boston, and Lincoln. Being their grandpa brought him more pride and happiness than anything.
Scott is survived by his son, Travis Roller (Desiree); daughter, Angela Dicioccio (Ryan); brothers, Darren Roller (Jill) and Dennis Roller (Kim); and his beloved grandchildren, Lola Smith, Charli Roller, Boston Smith, and Lincoln Roller.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Shawn Roller, and his parents, Donald and Carol Roller.
Scott leaves behind a lot of stories, a lot of laughs, some really good food, and a whole lot of people who are better because they knew him.

Keep his giving spirit going.
Scott loved John Wayne, but to us, he was the legend and the hero. A legend never dies.
