Donald “Tom” Simpson, 68 years old of Blue Springs, MO, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2014 at 9:15am at Centerpoint Medical Center. Visitation from 5-6pm Friday, January 2, 2015 at the McGilley & Sheil Chapel with a memorial service beginning at 6pm.
Tom worked for KCMO Police Department in his early years, then for Control Data, and finally, Fujitsu America. He was an active member and loved his volunteer work as a member of CERT (Citizens Emergency Response Team) and VIPS (Volunteers in Police Service, part of the Crime Prevention Unit for the Blue Springs Police Department).
He is survived by Helen, his wife of 46 years; daughter, Nancy Simpson-Mitchell; sons, Brian and Kevin Simpson and Michael Coakley. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren: Austin, Kylie, Kayla, Devon, Chase, Lexy, Wyatt and Avree; and one great-granddaughter, Trinidy.
