Donita was born January 19, 1943 in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was the daughter of Donald L. and Katherine (Roh) Oakley. She went to elementary and junior high in Lincoln, Nebraska. The family moved to Salina, Kansas where she graduated from High School in 1960.
Throughout her life she worked in various roles in finance. After retiring she found great joy in teaching. Donita was a regular substitute teacher in the Lee’s Summit R7 School District and taught English as a second language while wintering in Arizona’s Rio Grande Valley.
She enjoyed traveling in her RV, she was a collector of treasures, and enjoyed Las Vegas and gambling (winning). As a lifelong learner, she was interested in history, language, the arts and religion. Above all, Donita loved her family and her friends.
Donita is survived by her daughter, Donna and her husband, Travis Loyd, granddaughter, Kennedy Loyd and grandson, Carter Loyd, two sisters, Mary McGuire and husband, Barry and Beth and husband, Dewayne Rothfuss.
