Donna was preceded in death by her father Fred Olsness and mothers Gretchen Olsness – Helen Olsness, who lovingly joined the family after Gretchen’s passing; her husband Lawrence Franz; and her brother Rick Olsness.
She is survived by her sisters Diana Staples and JoAnn Hughes, her brother Richard Hughes; her children Terry Franz (wife Debra), Kathy Kelly Smith (husband Jim), and Debbie VanNoy (husband Mike); her grandchildren Tony Franz, Mena Franz, Sheri Stanton, Adrienne Hayes, Jason Kelly, Jacob Kelly, PJ Smith, Kimberly Smith, Ashley Fancher, Rachael Rethemeyer, and Mike VanNoy Jr.; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Family was the heart of Donna’s life. She devoted herself to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and her gentle presence was a constant source of comfort and joy. She had a special affection for babies, and it was well known that any little one in the room would soon be resting in her arms. Her warmth, kindness, and steady love created a legacy that continues through every generation of her family.
Donna also cherished her time on the lake. Boating brought her great happiness, and the memories made on the water with her family remain among their most treasured. She passed her love of the lake to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating traditions that will endure for years to come.
