Donna M. Turek

Donna M. (Kennedy) Turek, 82 passed away with grace and dignity at her home in South Kansas City, after a 6 month battle with lung cancer, with her family and devoted caregivers at her side. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, December 31st, 2012 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM, Sunday, December 30th, 2012 at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 Stateline Road, Kansas City, MO. The Holy Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to: Sisters Servants of Mary or Kansas City Hospice.

Donna was born on January 1st, 1930 in Flint, Michigan. It was there that she met her “Best Buddy”, John Turek. They were married on July 28, 1951 and lived in Detroit, Michigan until 1969 when they made Kansas City their home. Donna was a long time member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 2006. She is survived by her son Gerry and his children Alina and Audrey; her son John, his wife Bobbie and their children John J., Jeff and Maggie; her daughter Mary Roberts, her husband Don and their children Donnie (Sarah), Andrew and Jacob; and her daughter Martha, her husband Bernie and their daughters Jennifer Saylor (Jeb), Anna Meyers (David); and Caity; as well as 8 great-grandchildren.
