She was preceded in death by her mother, Mae Watkins Hunt; her father, Arthur Hunt; her brother, Dale Hunt; her daughter, Shelley Myers; and her husband if 76 years, Charles William Vandaveer.
Donna was born on April 12, 1932 in Lexington , Oklahoma. She enjoyed living in a small town but hated her daily chore of bringing their cow up to the barn from the pasture!
She married Bill on June 4, 1949. Her daughter, Debra, was born in December 21, 1951, followed by Shelley on November 23, 1953. She had a special relationship with Shelley and was devastated by her death from lung cancer.
Donna was a stay at home Mom through her daughter’s elementary school years and then began working at the Avon factory in Kansas City, MO. After moving to Independence, MO, she started as a cashier at Katz Drug Store and worked her way up to Bookkeeper and Office Manager.
In her retirement, she and Bill enjoyed traveling.
Donna is survived by her sister, Maxine Boston; daughter, Debra Brady (Dan); son in law, Ron Myers; granddaughter, Jill Tauiliili; grandson, David (Darcie); granddaughter, Danna Boyd (Michael); and great grandchildren: Zaiden Tauiliili, Liam Boyd, Maclin Brady, Gus Brady, Cecilia Boyd; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donna will be dearly missed by her family and friends and always remembered as the loving person she was.
She was devoted to her faith and was an active member of Coventry Estates Baptist Church in Independence, MO as long as her health permitted.

Her funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, November 5 at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO, followed by a graveside service at Floral Hills East Memorial Gardens, 25203 E US Hwy 50, Lee's Summit, MO 64086.
