Donnie Ellen (Stephens) Wolfington passed away at the age of 86 years on March 1, 2018, in Kansas City, MO.
Donnie was born July 30, 1931, in Liberal, Missouri, to Oscar A. and R. Ellen (Fetters) Stephens. She was a graduate of Mindenmines, Missouri, High School. Donnie married Harry Philip Wolfington on August 4, 1948, in Girard, Kansas. The couple farmed their entire married life near Mindenmines, Missouri. She was a member of the Countryside Christian Church, Pittsburg, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry P. Wolfington; a sister, Margie Caton; and two brothers, Raymond Stephens and Frank Stephens.
She is survived by three sons, Kerry (Mary) Wolfington, Lawrence, KS; Stephen Wolfington, Kansas City, MO; Daniel (Eileen) Wolfington, Florissant, MO; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Wolfington (Amber), Leavenworth, KS; Kathryn Harth (Cory), Manhattan, KS; and Melanie Wolfington (Danny Rosales), Kansas City, MO; three great-grandchildren, Ruby Rosales, Nona Wolfington and Max Wolfington; three siblings, Bob Stephens, Harrisonville, MO; Lillian Lehman, Billings, MO; and Dorothy and husband, Joe Witek, Chicago, IL. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, Herbert (Nadine) Wolfington of Frontenac, KS, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 5 at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at the funeral home with Rev. Kathleen Danforth officiating. Burial and a brief gravesite service will be in Fort Scott National Cemetery No. 1, Fort Scott, KS, at 1:30 p.m.
