Dora Stella Bearden

Dora Stella Bearden, 84, Lees Summit, MO, passed away on the 10th of June, 2026 of natural causes. A Memorial will be held at 10:00am on September 19, 2026 at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Dora was born June 3, 1942 in San Antonio Texas, the oldest of three girls. She was her high school class’s valedictorian. She married her childhood sweetheart, Antonio Reyes in October, 1960. They had two children, Delia and Michael. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting by attending night school, then passed her CPA exams. In 1995, the love of her life, Antonio was killed in the Oklahoma City bombing. Six years later she married Sid Bearden. She retired from Accounting in 2010. Sid passed away in 2022 and Dora relocated to Missouri to be closer to family.

She was preceded in death by parents Reynaldo Luna and Blanca Garcia, her first husband Antonio Reyes, and her second husband Sid Bearden.

Survivors include her daughter Delia Northup of Coffeyville, KS (Mike), Michael Reyes (Les Blackmore) of Lees Summit, MO, grandchildren David Northup (Katie), Leah Finkelstein (Zach), great-grandchildren Paul and Ace, sisters Frances Rose Flores, Thelma Veliz, and Dianne Jones, and a large extended family.
