Doris A. Gomez

Doris A. Gomez, 91, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Monday, May 4, 2015. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 8th, 11:30 a.m., at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 14251 Nall, Leawood, KS. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., prior to the Mass. Private interment will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Raytown, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice House.

Doris was born May 1, 1924 in Coffeyville, KS. Doris married Edward (Jack) Gomez on October 11, 1947 in Kansas City, MO. She worked at Douglas Aircraft Company in Long Beach, California during World War II. After marrying and giving birth to five children, she worked at Sears Roebuck retiring in 1984 as a buyer. She was a member of St. Michael’s church.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Jack; her son, James Gomez; her daughter, Janet Gredell; her grandson, Phillip Gredell, and son-in-law, Mike Gredell. She is survived by three daughters, Debbie (Jim) Creasey, Louisville, CO; Diane (Jack) Bardo, Shawnee, KS; Terri (Scott) Dory, Leawood, KS; her daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Gomez, Kansas City, MO; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, with two on the way.
