Dorothy E. Kayser, 89, a 62 year resident of Prairie Village, Kansas, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2010 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Graveside services will be on Wednesday, November 24 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Dorothy was born March 10, 1921 in Kansas City, Missouri, daughter of Wellington G. and Elizabeth L. (Evans) Hostetter. She was a 1938 graduate of Westport High School. Dorothy cared for her husband and children for many years before becoming the bookkeeper for the Kansas City Teacher’s Credit Union until her retirement 20 years later. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, brother James T. Hostetter of Sacramento, California., and grandson Bobby Franke of South Fork, Colorado. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, William A. Kayser Sr. of Prairie Village, Kansas. Son William A. Kayser Jr. and wife Mary Lynne of Southlake, Texas; daughter Barbara S. Franke and husband Larry of South Fork, Colorado.; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a niece and two great nieces.
