Dorothy J. Kennedy passed away Friday, February 27, 2015. She was born in Spring Hill, Kansas on September 17, 1925 to Truman and Florence Harley LaRosh. In 1943, she married Robert Kennedy, who died in 1991. She worked as a secretary at Pratt-Whitney and Bendix. She then became a full time mother and friend. She loved to read, study the Bible, shop, and foster a love of learning in her 3 children.
She is survived by her children, Betty (Ron) Meyer, Robert Kennedy, Kathy (Rich) Williams. Grandchildren, Bryan (Stephanie) Meyer, Megan (Kevin) Jones, Janelle Kennedy, Robbie Kennedy, Jake Williams, Alex Williams, Brooke Williams. Great-granddaughter, Hailey Jeanne Jones. Her brother, John (Joan) LaRosh, nephews, Mike (Jane) Hood, Richard (Severina) Hood, nieces, Sandy Thompson, Laurie (Randy) Herron. Her three sisters, Vernice, Evelyn, and Margaret preceded her in death.
The funeral service will be held at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 3. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery South. A visitation will precede the service at 10:00 a.m. Reverend Howard Johnson will officiate. Memorial donations may be made to Leawood United Methodist Church, 2915 W. 95th Street, Leawood, Kansas 66206.
