

Dorothy L. (Flach) McAuliffe, 92, of Kansas City, peacefully passed away on August 13, 2024. Dorothy was born in St. Joseph, Missouri and graduated from Benton High School. She worked in the banking and finance fields and was also an accomplished homemaker. Dorothy was a proud and devout Catholic. She was known for her impressive culinary skills, her master-class gardening abilities, and her keen sense of finding a bargain anywhere. She was also well-known for her faithful lighting of holy candles in times of need and for comfort.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Bill; her son, Jim; and her son-in-law, Dennis Corcoran. She was also preceded by her parents, Mary and Al Rogers; her brothers, Don Flach and Ted Flach; and her sister, Joan Nelson. She is survived by her children, Mike (Beth) McAuliffe of Baytown, TX, Theresa (John) Smith of Raytown, MO, Janet Corcoran of Kansas City, and Jennifer (James) Bain of Redding, CT. Dorothy cherished her 10 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandson, and of course, all the grand dogs and cats. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mildred (Rawlings) McAuliffe, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20 at St. Elizabeth Church, 2 East 75th St, Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to be made to your favorite charity.
