Dorothy "Dottie" Jane (Notestine) Moser

Being raised in southern Missouri, she learned, “a lady never tells, or asks another, their age.” Those close to her know her age. If anyone is still curious, they are advised to ask her daughter, Chris, who has been instructed to answer that, “it is none of your business.”

Her children in random order are: Christine, Patti, Susan, Bob, John, Tom, Julie. Jill and Gary passed on before her. She was blessed with in-laws Dana, (John) and Paul, (Christine). She has many grandchildren and great grandchildren, like Abraham and Sarah, more than the grains of sand on a beach.

Her husband, Jim, nurse, housekeeper, launderer, chef, dishwasher and gardener, has been a loving husband, faithful and kind. She told him she will not haunt him if he remarries, and she is sure there will be many lovely women bringing casseroles to the door when she is gone. (Added note: make certain the casseroles are GLUTEN-FREE.)

This Joplin, Missouri hometown girl enjoyed every second of residing in Malta, Illinois since 2016, considering the feeling of her and her husband having been forced to move there from Blue Springs, Missouri by her bossy daughter, (joke). She’s often told her Missouri friends and loved ones of being a full-time recipient of the most red tomatoes, the greenest cucumbers and zucchinis, and the sweetest, yellow cobs of corn from her and Jim’s friends and neighbors in Malta.

Dottie ecstatically celebrated to finally be in her Savior’s arms. She rejoiced to board the Angel Train that flew her to Heaven. She will be thrilled to be with those who will be waiting at the Pearly Gate to greet her, including her parents, George and Sybil Notestine, her sister, Barbara Moulder, and her brother, Daniel Notestine.

Dottie wrote, “I have no special accomplishments in my life to brag about. The Lord has been my constant guide throughout my life, and I regret it was a tough patch for Him, but He has never failed me. Jesus has held my hand and comforted me throughout the last days of my life. To those who I’ve said, “I love you,” I meant it and I treasured many. Whoever took time to see me off, God bless you.”

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at 1:00pm at Floral Hills Funeral Home 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd Kansas City, MO 64133. Burial will be immediately following the service at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Memorials can be made to the family to be established at a later date.
