She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Atchison, Kansas on December 22, 1943 to parents Joseph Floyd Cash and Eva Cora Cash-Harvey. She graduated in 1957 from Atchison High School. Dorothy married the love of her life, Norman Edgar Oswalt, on July 2, 1966. They lived in San Diego, California where they had their only child, Norman William Oswalt. They later moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she was a homemaker. Dorothy and Norman were married for 41 wonderful years until his passing in 2007.
Dorothy was an avid Chiefs fan. She enjoyed going to the casino and spending time with family and friends. She will be remembered most by her love of cooking and hosting family gatherings.
She was preceded in death by her husband Norman, her parents Joseph and Eva and five siblings.
She is survived by her son Norman Oswalt and wife Kerri of Raymore, Missouri. She was a loving grandmother of two granddaughters: Heidi Alleman and husband Christopher of Belton, Missouri and Abigayle Oswalt of Raymore, Missouri. Dorothy leaves her only living brother Robert Cash and wife Shirley of Freemont, Nebraska. She also leaves several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Chester.
